Learning with Online Exercises in  Soil Science

Introduction

The lecture and laboratory sessions in Soil Science have been designed to provide students with a general background in Soil Science.  These sets of supplemental Activities have been developed to provide depth  to the understanding of Soil Science principles.  They are practical in design with most examples taken from real world  problems.  To derive the most benefit from completing the activities it is best if you fill in the notes, solve the problem sets and discuss your solutions with classmates.  Follow the directions below.

 Note:  Answers to the exercises are provided in a separate section.  See link at the end of each exercise.

 Procedure:

 1. Access the assigned activity and follow the directions provided.

         a.     Attempt solving the word problem sets using dimensional analysis.
 
     b.    Check your answers with those provided with the link to the answer page.

c.      Discuss the problem solutions with  classmates in a study group.

d.    If you need assistance check with the Tutors, TA's or Instructor for hints.

e.    Print a copy of the Activity problem set and attach your work to the back.

 f.    Print your name in the upper right hand corner and turn in to the instructor.
